Not all that long after we will have the first pub stop at the Volunteer Arms in the village of Sutton Abinger. .10:45am at Windsor and Eton Riverside station
SU969772 / SL4 1QF
Our meeting point is Windsor and Eton Riverside station. We will start by walking beside Windsor Castle to the Long Walk. We will walk along the Long Walk to the Copper Horse - a well-known statue of George III. I have seen red deer, red kites, pheasant and partridge along this route, so do look around if you are interested. We will continue through Windsor Great Park to Bishop's Gate. This is a good spot to stop for a short break (bring your own snacks and water). We will leave the park here and continue down to Englefield Green. There is usually a cricket match on at the Green on a Sunday, but it probably won't have started when we pass by.Runnymede Air Forces Memorial is well worth a visit. We will stop here for about half an hour or so to have a look around. We will then head on to the Magna Carta memorial. We will start off by stopping and eating our packed lunches in a nearby field. There is a National Trust cafe where we can also grab some tea and cake.We will then visit the Jurors artwork which contains images representing freedom and equal rights https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/runnymede-and-ankerwycke/features/what-does-the-jurors-representFrom here, we will continue - visiting the Magna Carta memorial and the John F. Kennedy memorial. https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/runnymede/features/memorials-at-runnymedeWe will return to Windsor via the Thames path, passing by the village of Datchet.Dogs are welcome but will need to be kept on a lead for much of the walk due to breeding deer and nesting waterfowl. Please bring a packed lunch, snacks, and plenty of water.11.5mile / 18.5km
